Following the lengthy period of bad weather, all of Newton Aycliffe Youth teams have a huge backlog of games to play before the end of the season. Some of our teams are playing 3 games a week to ensure the season finishes on time.
Stockton Rangers 5 – 5 Newton Aycliffe Youth Falcons U8’s
Reversed fixture again today moving from Stockton to Aycliffe 3g. Another game we knew would be a tricky one due to playing rangers 7 weeks ago and coming out on the wrong end.
Rangers started the match strong and sharply took to lead with a good finish, it was then back to the goal as Rangers tried to finish Aycliffe off in the first half and we managed to close down the first half at 4 – 1 down.
After half time motivational speech and direction we changed it up and went with the formation 1-1-3 which seemed to have a positive impact.
Falcons really took it to Rangers and put in a solid 2nd half, they ran their hearts out and gave 110%. The goals that Falcons scored were top notch and this presented in an excellent fightback.
With 3 minutes to go to score was level at 5 – 5 and Falcons weren’t ready to stop as in the last minute the ball was adjudged to be not over the line and heartbreak for Aycliffe.
Overall the game proves the lads can fight back and have the passion and determination to come from behind. This was an excellent 2nd half performance from all the boys. MOM – Evan Braddon Goals – Evan Braddon , Cole Raine x4.
Newton Aycliffe Youth U14’s Hawks 6 – 1 Redcar Athletic Blue.
Final home game of the season for u14 Hawks Vs Redcar Athletic Blue. Today the boys stepped up and put on a good performance. Creating lots of chances, many from the boot of Callum setting up Jack and Ethan for 6 or 7 great chances. Redcar goal keeper was in inspired form today though making save after save to keep the score 0-0
On the stroke of HT we finally put a chance away as Ethan found the corner with a low shot. HT 1-0. Some very good performances in that first half by Dylan chasing down every ball, Declan bossing the defence and Callum creating chances at will.
2nd half we stepped up a level and added a 2nd through Lee. Redcar pulled a goal back to make it 2-1. Again there keeper was on fire and kept us at bay until about 10 minutes from time when Callum scored. We quickly added a 4th when Dylan grabbed his 1st goal of the season. Jack then added a 5th and Mom Callum finished the scoring. 6-1 Ft. Declan Scott pushed very close for Mom today as he was outstanding marshalling the defence but Mom goes to Callum, playing a year above himself he bossed the midfield creating lots of chances and scored 2 important goals. Well played lads 1 win away from Promotion and if results go our way we will be champions.
