Darlington Rotary club earned over £1000 an hour for charity collecting Christmas Trees-as a service for householders. In total they collected over 1130 trees many over 10 foot high, and at least one 20 foot monster was unearthed from a back alley, demanding an hour of a three-man team to cut it up. £7100 – less any expenses – was raised for the Hospice and other charities.
