As part of the innovative teaching and learning programme that is taking place at Woodham Academy, the school has recently teamed up with the Smart Wall Paint company to offer students a more creative way to enjoy their learning.
Smart Wall Paint is a revolutionary style of paint that turns any surface into a whiteboard. Using the paint in schools can transform classrooms by designing creative learning spaces, enabling students to think and work more creatively.
So far, the paint has been used on the top of student desks and as student question walls in a number of classrooms, as well as a huge collaborative artwork space on the floor of an art classroom. In classrooms where the paint has been applied to the top of desks, students are encouraged to write key language on the desk as a visual prompt, together with personal targets for the lesson.
Jon Tait, Assistant Head Teacher at Woodham Academy commented ‘We are delighted to be working with Smart Wall Paint in our creative learning spaces projects. The results we have seen so far have been incredible. The paint has really transformed these classrooms and has had a significant positive effect on the learning experiences of our students’.
