Friday 11th January marked Woodham Academy’s traditional mock examination results day, when the results of examinations sat in December were released to students, with the accompanying tension of opening the envelope to get a feel of what the real event will be like in August.

The mock results are particularly encouraging this year, causing staff to raise their expectations in many subject areas. The results of careful planning and thorough revision were much in evidence.

Alongside the mock results, students had the additional anticipation of actual GCSE Mathematics results.

The pass rate at grade C or higher exceeded Head of Mathematics, Steve Flynn’s, wildest expectations, and is a record for Woodham at this stage of the students’ final school year.

Steve commented, “We are delighted with the overall result. It allows us to fully support the few who have not yet achieved their target grades and many of the successful students who want to push on to achieve even higher outcomes”.
