Middridge Village Allotments Association held their annual social on Sunday 16th September. It was very well attended by members and their families who enjoyed a sunny afternoon of chat, quizzes, food and drinks.
The Best Kept Garden Competition was judged in July by Councillor Joan Gray from Newton Aycliffe and the winners this year were the lovely couple, Mr and Mrs Pritchard from Woodham.
The certificate was presented by Kathy Booth, Allotment Secretary. Hugh and Margaret have only had their garden for two seasons and have never had their own allotment before.
Margaret celebrated her 80th birthday in July, Hugh will be 80 in September and were married last year. It just goes to show you are never too old to garden. The Allotmenteer’s from Middridge congratulate them on their achievement.
