DearSir,
Exciting times are ahead for the Sisters of Support women’s mental health group, as they launch their new Sisters of Support women’s choir, which will be led by long term member Sam.
Sam has been a member from near the start of Sisters of Support’s launch and has seen the group go from strength to strength and, as more women have accessed their service, it clearly shows the need for such a service within our communities.
Sam is excited to now begin this new musical chapter of life within the Sisters of Support group. She has qualifications in music, with her voice being her main instrument and she has had a passion for music since being a toddler. She was often told by her late grandmother that she was “singing before she could even talk” and she says that music is one of the biggest things that helps invigorate her mind and it gives her so much joy.
She spends a lot of time writing music and singing and is very much looking forward to starting the Sister of Support choir and bringing musical joy to the lives of the women of the group. Since being part of Sisters of Support, she has grown friendships within the group and has a lot of admiration and love for the women there and feels a choir will be a fantastic way to help build their confidence, promote their good health and wellbeing and that it will hopefully give them joy in seeing what they can musically accomplish. We hope, in the future, to take part in local events with the choir to help raise much needed funds, exciting times are indeed ahead for Sisters of Support.
