Last month, pupils at Stephenson Way Academy and Nursery School treated packed audiences to a production of The Lion King. Over 50 children participated in the show, ranging in age from 7-11 years. The school runs a very popular performing arts club, which meets after school each week to rehearse.
Club leaders and show producers, Miss Whitfield and Mrs Gibson, were full of praise for their pupils. ‘Once again, the talent of the children has been amazing,’ remarked Miss Whitfield, adding ‘Parents should be very proud of what their children have achieved’.
Parents and family in the audience were equally as excited by the show, with one Year 4 parent already looking forward to next year’s performance, saying ‘Last year’s Oliver was amazing, but this show was perhaps even better.
