Part of the fundraising activities for the two MRI Scanners for Darlington and Bishop Auckland Hospitals involves selling raffle tickets to win a new Vauxhall car. Tesco’s and the town’s Rotary Club members were busy selling the £1 tickets on Saturday and they received a big response from Newtonians. Readers can buy a ticket from the Customer Services Counter at Tesco’s. Please support this important appeal. MRI Appeal Charity Lead Officer, Pat Chambers said: “I was absolutely delighted to support both Rotarians and Tesco’s Community Team with their fundraiser on Saturday. I’d driven up the Vauxhall Viva which is being raffled
for the MRI Scanner Appeal and seeing such friendly faces decided to stay and help with the collection. “£529 was raised on the day which is a fabulous help towards the scanner appeal and I want to thank all of those who volunteered their time from the Rotary Club to help Shirley and the team from Tesco.”
