After raising £182,759 for the GNAAS, team members from Alnwick, Bishop Auckland, Blyth, Byker, Cramlington, Darlington, Durham, Gateshead, Killingworth, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, Newton Aycliffe and North Shields Wilko stores are keen to extend its support to the charity by hosting another year of fundraising activity.
Dave Hanby, regional manager, said: “We’ve had a wonderful year supporting the GNAAS and we hope the grand total raised by all the stores in the region made a real difference.
“But we’re not stopping there! We ‘re already well on our way with this year’s fundraising and our loyal customers are continuing to support the charity to help us on our way to another amazing total.”
Mandy Drake, head of fundraising at the GNAAS, said: “We’re thrilled to have the Wilko team on board as a key fundraiser for another year. We rely on charitable donations to keep going, so to have the support from such a large retailer is fantastic for us.
