Dear Sir,
At last we have an Independent candidate standing at the next election for the West Ward. Ken Robson will, with your support, join the other independent councillors and by doing so will add another independent elected voice for the residents of this ward.
With the current numbers of elected independent councillors it is difficult to oppose or sway policy or decisions that the large Labour Party push through or rubber stamp Often this type of decision is pre-agreed at Labour Group meetings on the Monday night before the Wednesday meetings.
By voting for another independent councillor in Ken Robson you will be helping to add a valued independent voice to the council and also strengthening and adding weight to the other elected independent councillors whose views are often swept aside simply based on the huge majority of the Labour councillors.
Ken will fight for the rights of each individual resident and family without a political agenda political direction or Party line.
There are a number of independent candidates of which Ken is one – who have attended a number of council meetings as members of the public over the past months – it is clear from the conversations I have had that Ken did not agree with what was happening regarding the dominance of the larger group, and as such has taken the decision to stand as an Independent Candidate at the next election.
I hope that the people of the WEST Ward will support this fresh and non-political candidate in his efforts to develop and better the West Ward.
Alderman George Gray
West Ward
Independent Councillor
