A Darlington based web design agency helped the football club raise its initial target of £225,000, putting it one step closer to moving to Blackwell Meadows for the upcoming 2015/16 season.
Geonet Solutions, established in Darlington twenty years ago, created a user-friendly website allowing fans to purchase five-year season tickets as well as pledge money to the ‘Heading Home’ campaign.
The new website proved extremely popular, with over 17,000 visits in the first week, meaning the target was reached just two weeks after the launch.
Club director of Darlington F.C, Dave Mills, said: “We want to say a huge thank you to Geonet for helping us reach our initial target. “From the beginning, Geonet were professional in their approach, knew exactly what was required and stuck to a challenging deadline.”
The digital solutions company provides a range of services, including digital fundraising, to a variety of clients across the North East and internationally.
More than 90,000 people visited the site within the first month of it going live, with the majority of those being accessed by users from a mobile or tablet.
Creative manager, Chris McQuillan, said: “It was a pleasure to help the club, we are really pleased with the final result and that the money was raised in a fortnight.
In light of the recent planning permission approval, funds raised will be used to transform Blackwell Meadows into a joint football and rugby venue, with work due to start in May.
