Sedgefield Water Polo Club hosted tournaments at Newton Aycliffe Leisure Center for under 13’s and under 15’s before a packed spectator area.
The under 15’s dominated their competition defeating Radcliffe from Manchester 14-2, Lancaster 12-1 and Rotherham 11-1 and in the final defeated Sheffield 10-2.
The star of the Sedgefield team was Michael Hampshire 13 who was the leading scorer and Sedgefield’s best all round player.
In the under 13 competition Sedgefield entered two teams against Lancaster and Radcliffe. The Orange team came out on top defeating Lancaster 6-4 in the final after losing to them in the group games. Sedgefield Green’s were third and Radcliffe 4th.
Sedgefield’s outstanding player was Jonathon Jones for a fine performance in goal.
The other Sedgefield players on the day were Haydn Craggs, Jake and Isaac Mendelson, Ben and Kyle Alderson, Chris Jones, Daniel Millington, Lauren Chatt, Hollie Turnbull, Kate and Anna Harrison, Kes and Charlie Mc Ewan, Lewis and Josh Batey, Ryan Jay Griffiths, Joseph and Isaac Boys, Bartosz and Maja Czajczynska, Liam Hughes, Zak Schafer, Dan Barron, Lucy Li, Rowan, Jude and Amelia Henderson, Max Byles.
