Readers are warned to watch for standing water near the lifts in the Town Centre after a lady slipped and was badly injured last Saturday. Rainwater had apparently flooded down the ramp nearby and stood in pools. People using this access to the town centre were obliged to walk through the water and the lady concerned slid her full length damaging her ankle.
Ambulance crew and a Paramedic attended and treated her with painkillers before she was taken to hospital for an X-Ray and leaving on crutches, unable to work for a few weeks.
The Town Centre Manager was notified and the water was removed and it is hoped the problem will be solved.
