Dear Sir,
Pleased to see that I wasn’t alone in my utter disgust at how the Labour Party ignored and took for granted the core voters who kept them in office.
Disgusted that despite being told at local level there would be consequences when an election was called that the likes of Phil Wilson are still refusing to take any responsibility for the election outcome, instead queueing up to blame Jeremy Corbyn.
It was a hard decision to put my cross in the Conservative box for the first time as a voter but listening to the excuses from the local Labour candidates, I must say that it may be a long time before I return to the Labour fold.
I suggest the Labour Party do not assume that this election was a once in a lifetime protest vote and that normal service will be resumed in future elections, learn from your mistakes or repent at your leisure.
Kind regards
Michael Burke, Westfield’s
