On the 30th November a new shop opened on Railway Street, Bishop Auckland with the aim of bringing war to the people, but there’s no need to worry as this shop specialises in war games from different Sci-fi and Steam Punk inspired war games to the popular War Hammer series.
Andy Robson, the proprietor has always had a deep love of war games and earlier this year with help from South Durham Enterprise Agency and his business Adviser Neil Pearson as well as support from the New Enterprise Allowance Scheme, took the plunge and set up his own business travelling the country attending war game shows and events selling the games and figures to dedicated followers.
Now this has grown and he has set up a shop called Brigade Headquarters where people can buy and play war games, Andrew not only sells war games but teaches people how to build the models and play the games, with tables to rent where dedicated war gamers can play out their battles or anyone with a bit of curiosity can come and see what it’s all about.
There are regular club evenings every week where people can get together and indulge their love of this hobby and on 11th January he will be hosting a demonstration event where anyone can come and try the games and even experienced war gamers can discover new armies and battles.
War games are becoming more and more popular in the area, thanks to dedicated shops and venues for supporting this stimulating hobby.
