Dear Sir,
I am very pleased to hear that Councillor Bob Fleming is standing as an Indepenent candidate in the County Council elections for the area which includes Aycliffe Village on 6th May.
I have worked closely with Bob over the last 30 years and during that time I have found him to have experience, knowledge and determination and the ability to get jobs done. He is a Councillor who I would contact whenever I needed help with any issue involving the village and behind the scenes would always provide effective support and assistance to reach a successful outcome.
When the Aycliffe Neighbourhood Plan was being developed, he insisted that a large green belt should separate any future housing development close to the village and I am sure he will oppose any move to infringe on this issue.
Last year he supported the application from The County to use the village green during the period of Covid-19 restrictions. Recently, he proposed and strongly supported the petition from many of the villagers to allow the village green to be used once again.
Bob was unanimously awarded the honour of Freeman of Great Aycliffe Parish for his outstanding achievements for the town and people of the parish.
If you want a Councillor who is experienced, knowledgeable, dedicated and gets things done, you should vote for Bob Fleming.
