Last Saturday St Clare’s Food Bank Distribution Point organised a Tombola in The Thames Centre to raise funds for the County Durham Foodbank. Thanks to the generosity of local shoppers £120 was raised which helps people in food crisis. Kath Pinner and Alison Firby want to thank all who supported the event in any way, and say this would not have been possible without their involvement in GACAP, the Great Aycliffe Community Aid Partnership.
If you want to support the Foodbank, please make donations of food in the Tesco yellow bins in the town, or direct to St Clare’s Church. There is a one day Tesco Collection on Saturday 22 July. Please support this if you can. Volunteers to help with the collection in the Newton Aycliffe Store should contact Alison on 01325 300347.
