This year’s ‘Helping Hands’ Christmas Day Dinner was truly magnificent! All the volunteers worked extra hard to ensure that it exceeded our high expectations . . . from the handmade favours for the tables to Father Christmas making a surprise visit from his busy schedule to hand deliver personalised presents. We even had chauffeurs, chefs, staff serving the guests and a joyful Christmas choir!
Around 80 people turned up for the banquet meal and all the hard work made it worthwhile when we saw the smiles of our VIP guests as they walked up the red carpet to receive a warm welcome. Some of the elderly people said it was their best Christmas ever.
John and Mandy from Woodham Golf and Country Club were the perfect hosts and made everyone feel like honoured guests. They even helped raise £200 towards the event.
Trustee Alwyn White would like to thank every single person who supported us in any way. She said ‘without you all, this event would never have happened. You helped to make a lot of people extremely happy on Christmas Day.’ The day was truly full of love, fun and laughter.
