Volunteers are being sought to ensure one of the county’s muddiest obstacle courses goes smoothly. Those who want to get involved in Durham County Council’s Muddy Mayhem event without taking part are being invited to become Mayhem Makers.
The event takes place on Sunday, March 23 and volunteers could be called upon for a number of duties such as pulling a muddy runner out of a bog or directing their weary legs to the event village for refreshments. You could even help to prepare the registration packs before the event (a nice easy job in the warmth).
You can volunteer as an individual or as a group but those offering their time are asked to bear in mind they should be able to stand all day in possible cold and wet conditions. You will be assigned a position depending on ability level.
16 and 17-year-olds can put themselves forward but must be accompanied by an adult.
Please note this event is sold out for competitors.
