After four months of planning, designing, redesigning, asking for support and working with some amazing local people, volunteers and businesses the PCP Super Shed is now ready and open for use by local people at the Pioneering Care Centre.
The Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP) Chief Executive, Carol Gaskarth, welcomed to the garden those who were involved in making it happen to an opening celebration on Monday.
Designers and main builders, the Greenfield Cree Men placed a plaque on the shed thanking Palram and BTS Fabrications, Cemex without whose help the Shed would not look so spectacular…in fact it would have no foundations and be roofless!
The Community Gardeners and Volunteers were really excited to see this colourful shed ready in time for the long cold winter as it will enable them to continue growing and learning even during poor weather.
Melanie Fordham, PCP Chairperson, formally opened the shed congratulating the hard work and dedication of the CREE men and volunteers, thanking the funders for their support (GAMP, livin and NCS) saying that this huge shed is a true community effort which would not have been achieved without local businesses coming to our rescue – a true team effort.
The new custom build fully accessible shed will make an enormous difference for the would-be gardeners. If you would like a tour of the garden or to find out about the gardening courses and how to get involved please contact Fiona Mawson on 01325 321234 or email fiona.mawson@pcp.uk.net
