Newton Aycliffe Veterans Breakfast club have secured a new ‘home’ to hold their monthly breakfast club for veterans in the local area. Previously held at the NAYCC, and then Sporting Force, the Newton Aycliffe Veterans Breakfast Club has found a new home at the Pioneering Care Centre.
Local councillors, Hopper, Adam, Clare, Howell, Atkinson, Durham and Iveson supported, in total £300, through their Small Grants allocation, which secured the sustainability of the club for the coming year.
Nick Cooke, founder of the breakfast club commented,
“We have been made very welcome at the PCP. The Club aims to provide an opportunity for Armed Forces Veterans to meet other Veterans from the local area, grab a bacon roll and a hot drink, and relax with people that understand forces banter. It’s all very casual, and there are no hard rules or membership requirements.”
The club is held on the 1st Wednesday of every month at 10:00am, in the Brown Room.
All Veterans are welcome. On some occasions we have guests from other Veterans organisations that keep the group up to date on what is available to help Veterans improve their quality of life.
