Have you served in the UK Armed Forces?
What is a veteran?
The Ministry of Defence (MOD) defines a veteran as: ‘Anyone who has served for at least one day in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces (Regular or Reserve), or Merchant Mariners who have seen duty on legally defined military operations’.
Under the definition, veterans have already left the Armed Forces.
Regardless of when you left the military, tell your GP practice that you’ve served in the UK Armed Forces. This will help our team to better understand any military related health conditions that you may have and ensure that you are referred, where appropriate, to dedicated services for Veterans.
If you are ex-forces, please let us know at the surgery to help ensure you are getting the best possible care.
