On Tuesday 26th February the Vane Road Primary School Council visited a care home, Rose Lodge, near Cobblers Hall. We all put on a show consisting of various things we had learnt during the school year.

We felt we should do more for the community, and were told that the residents would appreciate more visitors, so we agreed on going to this welcoming care home.

Many of the residents could not look after themselves and did not see their families very often. The School Council walked from Vane Road to Rose Lodge to entertain the residents.

The show included: dancers, guitarists, drummers, singers, a story teller and a puppet show. “We were nervous at first but they were very nice and complimented us on our performances. We think it was entertaining for them, and us, and it was lovely to see them smile.”

A resident said, “We were thoroughly entertained and I hope you come back in the future.” We hope to go back soon, to perform again, as the audience enjoyed it.  We think that we made a huge difference and hope other people will follow in our footsteps and help the community.
