The events are open to all who may wish to come along and sell unwanted medals and associated collectables. Each event will run from 9.30am to 4.30pm. It is several months since the Medal Centre ran valuations in County Durham and the proprietor Andrew Jukes said that on every occasion they visit here local people are amazed at just what the Medal Centre is able to offer for unwanted inherited coins and medals along with associated items of militaria, gold and silver items. At the last event the team of experts purchased a tin box containing medals of a young local volunteer soldier who gave his life for King and Country on the first day of the battle of the Somme during the 1914-1918 war, serving with the Durham Light Infantry. He was later awarded a posthumous gallantry medal. This is the type of item the Medal Centre is looking to buy on the day and they are able to offer exceptionally good cash prices for items of this nature. People are more than happy to sell this type of item as they know their family medals will be in the hands of genuine experts who will find a proper home. As the vendor pointed out, they had been stored in the back of a drawer for many years and in her opinion the next generation of her family had no personal connection to the original owner and no interest in their history. The Medal Centre makes immediate cash offers on all items and the proprietor of the Medal Centre said “There has never been a better time to cash in one’s inherited items as we have a vast client base and are able to offer exceptional prices from a single item to a complete collection” Please see our advert on page ? and come along on any of the days advertised.
