There are still vacancies for the Senior Citizens’ Excursions
Each person over 60 years old who lives in the electoral Parish of Great Aycliffe on 1st April is eligible to travel on our free annual excursions.
Although the closing date for our ‘Trips’ has now passed, we have vacancies on some of the Northumberland Excursions. A 3-course lunch with tea or coffee at Doxford Hall Hotel is provided free of charge to passengers, as is tea/coffee and biscuits on the homeward stop at Derwent Manor Hotel. Passengers will travel in an air-conditioned executive coach with toilet and washing facilities.
The day starts at 9am when the coach departs from St Clare’s Church to travel to the Spanish City area at Whitley Bay for a comfort stop. The passengers are then taken to Doxford Hall Hotel for lunch and then to Alnwick for free time to visit the attractions of the Town. On the homeward journey, the coach will stop at Derwent Manor Hotel before arriving home in Aycliffe at around 7pm.
If you have not already booked a place on an excursion, please get in touch with us if you would like to book a place and we will send a form to you or you can collect one from our offices, the Recreation Centre, Library or Oakleaf Sports or Golf Complex.
Applications will be dealt with on a first come, first served basis and are only open to people who have not been allocated an excursion already this year.
Vacancies are only to Northumberland and only on of the following dates.

Friday 14th June
Friday 21st June
