Dear Sir,
For the last four and half years I have been privileged to be the MP representing Newton Aycliffe. Next Thursday your vote can decide whether that continues.
I believe I have provided transparency and diligence to the role. I am delighted that my team and I have had so many kind words from the people we have helped at very personal levels. We, of course, push on the big local issues too, like our Police Station and the smell from the quarry. I have worked very closely with many of our businesses and, in particular, Hitachi, to support them with many ministers visiting. We have seen great improvements in the standards of teaching and have school rebuilds happening at Woodham, Greenfield and Sugar Hill, whilst the UTC goes from strength to strength.
The best person to be your MP is someone who is not only born here, but has spent most of their life here and I have over 60 years of that experience.
We have faced unprecedented events with a global pandemic being followed by a war in Europe. These put massive strain on our nations’ finances with the costs of furlough etc. Our NHS suffered with Covid and the impact on waiting lists of the six million missed appointments during the pandemic. Waiting lists are coming down, NHS funding is at the highest it has ever been, and the economy is starting to improve with inflation back to normal and wages increasing faster than costs. The steps we have taken to reduce migration are showing substantial reductions and the Rwanda scheme will provide a further deterrent.
We have a clear plan that is showing results, please Vote Paul Howell for Newton Aycliffe and Spennymoor and be sure you will have a local MP shouting for you.
Paul Howell
