The Northumberland and Durham Swimming Championships. were held at Sunderland Aquatic Centre. on 28th February and 1st March. Representing Sedgefield 75 ASC were Mathew Bradley, Niall Coulthard and Peter Golightly, Hannah Featherstone Jessica Hall and Rebecca Hall. Hannah won two gold and two silver medals for Aycliffe.
The six swimmers competed in a total of eighteen events and made fifteen finals. All of the swimmers improved on their times going from heats to finals.
Mathew took the silver medal in the Open 400 FS and was placed 4th in the 200 Backstroke and the 50 Breaststroke and 5th in the 200 IM, the 400 FS and the 200 Breaststroke.
Niall won the gold medal in the 100 FS and silver in the 200 Breast stroke. In the 50 Breaststroke he was placed 4th in the 12 year age group.
Hannah won the gold medal in both the 100 FS and the 200 Individual Medley and silver in the 100 Butterfly and 200 Backstroke in the Open Events.
Jessica was placed 8th in the 100 FS and the 200 Backstroke and 10th in the 200 IM in the 12 year age group
Rebecca took 8th place in the 200 IM and was 1st reserve in the 50 Fly in the fourteen year age group.
Another great weekend with the swimmers performing in a way that brought great credit to themselves and the club.
