A 12 hour Northern Soul event was held on Saturday the 4th June at Newton Aycliffe Workingmen’s Club in memory of Philip Joss. Phil was passionate about his music along with his love for football and Golf.
Philip’s wife Lydia along with his brother in law Tony decided to arrange the fundraiser after Philip was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident last year. Lydia and Tony where overwhelmed by the response to the event and over 275 tickets were sold in just two days. There was also a raffle and auction at the event and over 65 prizes were donated by friends, family and local businesses.
Lydia said “The response has been overwhelming and just goes to show how much Phil meant to so many people. I feel truly blessed to have such great friends and family who have supported me through a very difficult time.
The event was a great success and raised £3,280 for the Air Ambulance Service.
