Last week Baltic Training Services in partnership with A Tech Training launched their first Traineeship Programme, which is one of the first of its kind nationally.
The programme has been devised to help to bridge the gap between school and work and aims to assist young people not in work become work ready and able to progress onto an appropriate apprenticeship programme.
The aim of the Traineeship programme is to help those young people who have little work experience and may require some support to improve their maths and English skills to enable them to progress onto an apprenticeship programme.
A-Tech Training and Baltic Training Services programme has been developed to progress individual’s personal and social development, improving their attitude and behaviours to ensure that the young people and businesses benefit from work ready young people prepared to learn and progress.
As part of the inspiring programme the eight trainees from local surrounding areas welcomed one of their many external guests Lanchana Green & Martin Wilby from The Lab MMA gym in Darlington who kindly volunteered their time to talk to the group about the benefits of leading a healthy lifestyle.
The group enjoyed sampling a nutritious smoothie made by Lanchana and took part in a discussion around healthy eating and then were put through their paces in A-Tech Training’s external learning environment with a fun strength and core training session.  The trainees thoroughly enjoyed the session and learnt the importance that fitness and wellbeing has on lifestyle and being work ready.  The group would like to thank Lanchana and Martin from The Lab (www.thelabmmagym.com).
Other guests have included Duke of Edinburgh Award through Durham County Council, CSI Drug and Alcohol Testing Service Ltd, Harvey and Hugo Ltd talking about the importance of social media etiquette.
