Every year The Turbinia and Aycliffe Bike Club organise a ‘Toy Run’ at Christmas to collect donations for good causes in the Bishop Auckland and Newton Aycliffe areas.
The run itself takes in many areas of County Durham and is supported by the Blazing Squad who also receive and collect donations to give to worthy causes.
Once again, the pupils of Walworth School were set to benefit from this generous act. All of the children and staff would like to thank the Turbinia Pub for this fantastic gesture, Martin Norris and everyone who donated or collected donations. On the run up to Christmas, Walworth staff collected a huge selection of toys from the Turbinia to be shared out amongst the children.
Head Teacher, Mr Peter Wallbanks, said, “this huge act of kindness is once again set to support our children. The efforts of the customers and staff of the Turbinia is really appreciated, especially this year when we all need some Christmas cheer. The staff and pupils of Walworth School wish to give all involved our greatest thanks for this wonderful gesture.
