Great Aycliffe Town Council are again providing a bumper series of free public countryside events this half term.
On Wednesday 3rd April at 2pm the exotic animals of Krafty Kritters will be again visiting Moore Lane Eco Centre to help us understand a little more about the animals which live on our doorstep.
Following the handlers talk participants will explore the park in search of the hidden creature which makes the area home. Appropriate footwear is a must and booking will be essential.
There will be an opportunity to try some pond dipping at Aycliffe Nature Park on Thursday 4th April starting at 10am to see which animals are about despite the recent cold weather. Bring along your wellies, nets and buckets if you have them. Meet at the entrance to the site at Travellers Green Car Park.
On Monday 8th April starting at 10am you can join us for a walk on one of the jewels of Aycliffe‘s crown, the Aycliffe Way for a pleasant 5 mile stroll around the original route of the walk. Bring suitable clothing and footwear, plus a light lunch. Meet outside Woodham Burn Primary School, Humphrey Close.
A follow up event will take place on Wednesday 10th April at 1.30pm at Moore Lane Eco Centre where participants will help produce a permanent wall map at the Centre that will explain all about the delights of the Aycliffe Way.
