Recent photographs reveal the Town Centre refurbishment is coming to an end with the overall design becoming clearly attractive.
Completion is expected in November, but shoppers and shopkeepers are asking if those parts that are finished will be opened for use by pedestrians or will we have to wait until the whole landscape scheme is completed?
The next stage of the redevelopment involves the demolition of Churchill House and the shops facing down Beveridge Way. We have received notice from Solicitors B.H.P. that they are closing this week and will not be taking another lease in the Town Centre. We are aware that Newsforce is another that will not renew and there is general discontent by shopkeepers following an impending increase in service charges which many say they just cannot afford.
