Pat Wood retired this month after serving 42 years as the cleaner at the town’s Nat West Bank. Pat always took great pride in her work and the cleanliness of the bank, treating it as her second home.
The management and staff think she is a terrific example of dedication and commitment, Chris Sproates also a long serving member of staff, told Newton News that Pat will be sorely missed not only for her work but as a good friend.
Pat was born in Page Bank and moved to Newton Aycliffe 51 years ago when her husband was offered a job with UMM as a Toolmaker. They have two children and a grandson.
