Local girl Charlotte McAdam won’t be like the White Rabbit and miss being late for her performances as Alice in The Tearaways Youth Theatre Groups Pantomime “Alice in Wonderland”. Fellow performers are Blake Reed as the nutty Mad Hatter and Erica Wood as the sleepy Dormouse.
Her sister Nataly is one half of the foolish Tweedle Dee, Tweedle Dum partnership and the bodyless Cheshire Cat is Caitlin Barron-Hay.
The Fairy Godmother is played by Gaynor Lambert while Hana Stephen plays Alice’s sister and one of the idiot Heralds is Nadia Kouacs.
Performances are at the Civic Hall. Shildon on Thursday 23rd, Friday 24th, Saturday 25th January at 7.30pm. The final performance is on Sunday 26th January at 2pm.
A spokesperson for the group said “This is a great family pantomime with something for all ages to enjoy. Boo and hiss at the evil Queen of Hearts, laugh at the idiot Heralds and Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. Clap and singalong to many of the 12 songs in the show.”
As in all traditional pantomimes there are plenty of custard pies in faces, sweets thrown out to the audience and a chance for young people to come up on stage too.
Tickets for the Thursday 23rd January performance are all £3 each, whilst for the other 3 performances (Friday to Sunday) Tickets are priced £4-50 Adults, £2-50 Children (5-15) £1 (3-4), £2-50 Concessions. All can be obtained by ringing 01325 313363 / 01388 774838.
