The children of Byerley Park School enjoyed a morning of show stopping music and dance on Thursday 12th July. The fabulous Spanish ‘Banda de la Maria’ were given a very warm welcome by the pupils, who enjoyed a spectacular and lively performance from them.
Travelling from their home country of Spain, our Olympic country of support, the band performed a festival style programme using trumpets, trombones, saxophones, bass drums, snare drums and even a sousaphone. Their performance included a collage of styles that were entertaining and fun!
The children and staff enjoyed their fantastic music and even joined the band by using their imaginations to play their own instruments and danced to the sounds of Spain!
We would like to say a special thank you to Katy Milne from Greenfield School for offering us this exciting opportunity and would happily welcome ‘Banda de la Maria’ back to our school again.
