Bob Chilcott is known all over the world as one of the finest composers and conductors of choral music. Join us for this special occasion, when Bob will be sharing some of the highlights of his career, and through the exploration of his brand-new large-scale work The Song of Harvest (to be premiered on 9 October in Durham Cathedral at RSCM’s annual Celebration Day), gain insights into what inspires Bob, and how he goes about creating the music which so many admire.
The RSCM’s Director, Hugh Morris, will join him in 60 minutes of conversation as the host and whether you choose to attend in person or join online you will also have the chance to put questions to Bob.

The Song of Harvest, hot off the press, will receive it’s first performance in Durham Cathedral at RSCM Celebration Day on Saturday 9 October. You can be part of this premiere!
An artfully crafted celebration of the earth and its riches, the piece is structured around five well-known hymns with new tunes which you will be able to learn during the afternoon with Bob. The full work will then form the musical element of the annual RSCM Celebration Day Service which will feature the presentation of RSCM Honorary Awards.
Rehearsal: 2.30pm – 4.00pm
Service: 5.30pm – 6.45pm
