The Main Line is a Darlington based Rhythm and Blues band who have been together for two years. The band share a love of Dr Feelgood, The Pirates and other RnB bands from the 60s and 70s, as well as 50s rock ‘n’ roll.
Over their two years together, they have played as support to The Ramblin’ Preachers at Sedgefield Rock and Blues Club; The James Oliver Band at Saltburn Blues Club and appeared twice at Darlington RnB Festival, as well as pub gigs around the North East region.
Turning their hands to original songs, the band has recorded and released their self-funded debut album Cobalt Blue, released by Mutiny 2000 and available from the band on CD and coloured (cobalt blue, of course) vinyl, or from Saxosoul Records in Bondgate, Darlington. CDs are £10 (or £12.50 to include P&P) and vinyl copies of the album are £20 (or £25 to include P&P).
The band has been featured locally on the Blues Show on Bishop FM with Gary Grainger; Zetland FM with Harry Simpson and Aycliffe Radio with Colin McNeillie on the Bear Blues Show, in addition to numerous online radio stations both at home and abroad, which has resulted in making the Independent Blues Broadcasters Association (IBBA) chart for two months in a row at the end of 2024.
New songs are in the pipeline for a follow up album later in 2025.
