Tara and I are amazed at the kindness of the people who take the time to read this article and bring donations, either food or monetary, to our rescue, because we are still feeding and caring for hedgehogs that we keep warm indoors due to health difficulties, hibernation is not an option. Firstly, June and Sonia who never stop helping us, Katie’s finders, Clive and Valentine, came to visit her at the weekend to see her happy and left getting better left a £10 donation to help us help her, thank you both, she will be here for a while. Mary for her donation of £10 and some lovely clothes off Bev.
However, we need to ask everyone to please read this from Chris Packham, we need everyone’s cooperation, reasons being, a very nice young couple and their son Joe did a spot of cleaning in their garden on Sunday and a garden rake disturbed a hibernating hoggie, they stopped at nothing to get help for this hog because his nest was destroyed, in the process leaving him nowhere to go, he is safe and warm indoors for the foreseeable and Tara will keep a close eye on him and make sure he stays healthy.
For our tip of the week, check before you use any gardening equipment or better still wait. For further info either visit Hedgehog Street or ring BHPS on 01584 890801 they can supply help and information leaflets
