It’s been far from quiet here at my rescue, what’s worrying is that over the last weekend I admitted another two small hedgehogs, last Friday, one of my dear friends and supporters, Elaine, panicked because she saw a little hog being attacked by magpies, her dog, Bobby, chased the magpies away, the poor soul, only 375 grams, was picked up by Elaine and I brought him into my rescue, so Bobby the hog, as he is now named, has been poorly as a consequence of the attack, but is making progress. He will be overwintered like all the others here, most of them are very little too. Also, on Sunday, another little female was brought in from School Aycliffe, she has a parasite burden, but is responding to treatment. Neither of these little ones would have survived winter, thank you both for being so caring.
I have now got 25 here in rescue, so I have had to purchase another cage, they are beautiful little creatures, and they will have to be here the whole of the winter. If you want to help me raise some money, I still have raffle tickets on sale at Grannies Choice, I am at the PCP centre on 1st December from 10-2 and also Valerie and June are at St. Clare’s Church Christmas Fair on Saturday 30th November. Finders are more than welcome to ask about their hogs too. Each and every hog I have here with me are going to be fine.
