Firstly, I have been getting reports that people are reluctant, for one reason or another, to pick up baby or adult hedgehogs when they are seen out during the day. This is totally wrong, I have been running this rescue for quite a long time and I have never had a problem with picking these poor downtrodden creatures up and bringing them into my home, they share our house with us.
They don’t have fleas which jump into your carpets or onto domestic pets. They don’t carry germs.
When they are out during the day it means they are sick and are asking for your help, let’s work together to see that they get the help they need and deserve. I always try and accommodate as many as I can, it causes me great pain when I can’t admit, for one reason or another.
I want to thank everyone who has donated, I have a lot here at the moment so I have to close for a week and a bit, I still need to feed and medicate hoglets and juveniles. I have also released a lot, firstly, Ace, Limpy, he has gone to a safer garden, Ollie and Lexi, Goldie, mum to three hoglets, the hoglets are going to join mum when they are much bigger!
Thank you Pat, Fred, Lesley and Steve for everything you do, also Elaine, June and Valerie for being there for me and my prickly babies.
Please contact The British Hedgehog Preservation Society if you find a hedgehog out during the day on 01584 890801.
