This week it’s very brief because it has been a week full of admissions, our poor prickly pals are coming in with all manner of ailments and some haven’t been easy to get under control. Firstly a little 105g hoglet came in from Spennymoor, I discovered that she couldn’t use one side of her face, she was passed down to Angela of Grange Vets to discover she had a broken lower jaw on one side, after antibiotics and pain relief she has gained strength and weight, going to 119g this week, after delivering full nursing care. Thank you Angela and all at Grange Vets for your support and expertise.
On Wednesday I admitted three, one from The Coppice, she had blood coming from her nose and developed chest difficulties, she has responded to treatment as have all the others, Pat from Bluebell Close, Brenda off Roy and finally Lily, kindly saved by Theresa and her son. She is very weak but fingers crossed she will be here for quite some time, early days for all of them and the list is very long but all are here out of harms way now in comfort and safety.
Please put out kitten kibble and water, no wet food, the flies are attracted to wet food and we have seen more flystrike this year than ever before. Sandra, Dawn and myself have seen more babies this year than ever and we are overfull but we have to accommodate the best we can.
