It has been busy, busy, busy here at Rescue. I came home from a short break in Blackpool last Thursday, got home at 4pm and by 8pm I had admitted four hedgehogs that needed to be in Rescue. I am also getting visits from builders for estimates. I don’t get finished very early at all and I am quite tired, but managing the best I can.
I want to thank Melanie, Lorraine and Jackie and John for bringing in hoggies, they all have a good chance so fingers crossed for them all. We always make it quite clear that if these little ones are out in the day they are not ok, Lorraine’s little girl has a parasite burden that can only be seen in her poo through a microscope, of course treatment has started on all new arrivals.
I am very happy to tell you all that with the help of Martin, Anne and Lesley and Steve they have made their beautiful gardens very hedgehog friendly and released Dylan, Gabriel, Bea, Tiny and Paul, also on Sunday, Sandy was collected and taken back to Durham to her garden to be with her hedgehog family.
Finally, this little girl, in the picture, is called Bonnie, she came in last Thursday night weighing 140 grams, she has made such progress she has been moved from the incubator tonight, she is from Spennymoor, she will be here for a while yet, very small and very alone.
Please call the British Hedgehog Preservation Society if you need help or information, failing that I am on Facebook, I will try my best to update my page but I am up against all sorts of things at the moment.
Thank you.
