Our newly established rescue centre is doing ok and everyone is settled and happy including our resident hoggies. Before I go any further our Prickly Haven Rescue Centre has its first fundraising event on Saturday 14th March. This is at the Community Spirit Fair at The Big Club, we would like to thank Katie and Lorraine for giving us the chance to attend because this will provide us with the opportunity to raise the necessary funds to continue feeding and housing, not to forget we are also there to provide information and answer any of your questions and raise awareness.
Myself, Viv and Joan would also like to thank June and Marlene for taking the time to make and donate some lovely items for our sale, we are really grateful. Please come and see us, your support is appreciated.
Little Molly who was injured continues to make a slow but steady recovery, she has plenty of support to walk around, still very fragile but I am very pleased with her progress.
As the weather improves we expect hedgehogs waking, strimmer injuries are avoidable if we all take care to check before we strim and cut our lawns, council gardeners cutting hedgerows are also asked to watch out for the wildlife, please also refrain from laying poisons, slug and rat poison will kill everything not just targeted species.
The British Hedgehog Preservation Society will also help in any way they can, they can be contacted on 01584 890801 or the Hedgehog Street app or website are useful tools. Hope to see you all on Saturday!
