We have been very busy recently, we have had some sickness but the remedies are all in place and beginning to make a difference to Titch and Tiny who have had gastrointestinal difficulties. Viv has also managed to rescue a small hoggie from her garden Monday night, poor thing, a girl, she has named her Molly, upon closer examination we discovered a wound that had a large scab still attached.
Because we have a brilliant vet, who wants to remain nameless for modesty reasons, he supplied the rescue with something to treat this wound. Audrey continues to do well in Joan’s care, we are keeping them nice and healthy ready for release in the spring. Ian won’t recognise his litter of four, Hagrid, Hermione, Hazel and Hester!
We also have some people to thank, firstly Marlene, she has gone to some time and trouble to make some beautiful items for our fundraiser, also thank you again to the ladies of Tesco for the newspapers, placing them so nicely in a carrier bag, we are going through them quickly with so many hoggies, at present.
Can I also take this opportunity to wish Honest John a speedy recovery. Both John and Val have been friends of mine for some years now and he has helped me in the past raise money for this rescue when I first started last year.
Finally, myself, Viv and Joan have decided to join forces and rescue our hedgehogs as a combined effort, this will mean that we can help more of our best friends as a single rescue centre which we have called Prickly Haven Hedgehog Rescue. We hope you like the name. I am extremely lucky to find such wonderful ladies to work with!
The British Hedgehog Preservation Society will hold all our phone numbers, if you need us you need to ring them on 01584 890801.
Have a great week everybody
Maxine, Viv and Joan
