The aim of the new Manager at The Eden Arms is to put this hotel on the map as a first choice venue for the local community. Owned by Shearings this once very popular local hostelry has been used mainly for people staying overnight, taking bus tours in the UK.
Laurie Simpson took over as manager a year ago and is intent on offering Newtonians this venue for marriages, socials, birthdays, receptions, Christenings etc.
A special rate of £2015 for 2015 weddings in currently on offer and Laurie has lots of other ideas including the Special Valentine’s Night he held last Saturday.
He placed an advertisement in Newton News and was oversubscribed. A special room was set aside for this romantic evening with a five course meal with wine included in the price and everyone enjoyed the quality and atmosphere. Next year a bigger room will be provided to meet the demand.
The Windlestone Suite has a large dance area and can seat 90 people. The bar now offers a meal deal – 2 for £10 including the famous “Eden All Day Breakfast”! Afternoon Tea and scones is also being promoted at £8.95.
It is great to see The Eden Arms back in business and the enterprise of the new manager is welcomed.
