In true Bruce Springsteen fashion Liz Fisher, Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP’s) Deputy Chief Executive, was certainly born to run, smashing a £500 fundraising target for PCP’s Options.
On Sunday 8th September, Liz ran the Great North Run in aid of PCP’s Options service – a member-led service for adults with learning and physical disabilities. Liz raised an amazing £1,435, with the funds set to support Options to develop their outside garden space, to benefit their learning and opportunities outdoors. Now Liz has completed the run, she is looking to reach a £2,000 target.
Liz said: “I did it! I’ve been blown away by the support I have received for my fundraising campaign to raise money for Options at PCP. It was a major motivator in getting me around the course.
“Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me and I am sure the group will post updates of their activities and plans as they go forward. Roll on Great North Run 2025!”
Linda West, Options Services Coordinator, said: “The funds are a massive help as it will be great to get our outdoor space back. It was a haven for wildlife, so we will be able to fill the pool with water again, that will bring back the frogs, newts and birds. It will once again be a focus of our environmental group to be able to be back outside, it massively benefits our mental health and wellbeing. Options members are so grateful and excited for the future, thank you Liz.”
