Dear Sir,
As this is my last weekend in Newton Aycliffe, I am grateful for this opportunity to express my thanks for the warm welcome and and generous support that I have received here over the past five and a half years.
The happiest years of my life as a priest have been spent here in Aycliffe. It has been a privilege to serve this community and to share in people’s joys and hopes, grief and sorrows.
I have been richly blessed here in so many ways, receiving far more than I was able to give. I shall always remember with great affection my time ‘on the town’ and for all the blessings that have come my way here, I am most grateful.
To the Newton News and its readers, the Town and County Councillors, all those in the health and caring professions, and everybody involved in trying to make life better in the community, I wish every blessing and success in the future.
