Tesco Manager Martin Butcher has taken the initiative in solving a litter problem around St. Mary’s Church. Following a letter from Great Ayclife Residents’ Association, commenting on complaints received, Martin acted immediately in having the litter picked by his staff.
A great deal of litter from Tesco car park, dropped by customers, is blown over the road to settle in the hedgerow, causing an eyesore.
Martin attended the meeting of GARA last week where the Chairman Syd Howarth thanked him for his prompt response to the problem, praising the good example he set to others.
Martin deploys staff each day to keep the area clean and there has been a marked difference which is much appreciated by nearby residents, the school and churchgoers.
