Shoppers in Newton Aycliffe are set to benefit when a host of exciting fashion brands become available at the Tesco Extra Store. Following a partnership with the Arcadia Group the store will be welcoming high street clothing brands Dorothy Perkins, Evans, Burton and Wallis. To celebrate, the store is holding a special re-launch event on Monday 6th March at 10am, where they will be joined by representatives from local charity Hub of Wishes who will receive a cheque for £1,000. The winner of a drawing competition that has been run by the store with local schools will also be announced. Primary school pupils in the area were asked to design a poster depicting what they love about their local area. The winning school will also receive a £500 donation and the winning pupil a £25 gift card. Thousands of the hessian bags featuring the winning design will be given away to customers, along with Tesco finest* prosecco and celebration cake, to mark this special occasion.
In addition to the new fashion brands, there will also be a new-look fresh fruit and veg department and a new style bakery where customers can choose their own freshly baked bread. Tesco Extra store manager, Helen Maynard said: “We are constantly looking at ways to enhance the customer experience and the addition of these popular fashion brands and other improvements are ones which I am sure people will be excited about. “We are really looking forward to the re-launch event and showing customers the changes that we have made in the store. We would like to thank all our customers for their patience during the building work.” To celebrate the addition of the Arcadia outlets the store will be giving customers the chance to nominate someone to receive a VIP experience at the store. Four winners will receive a personal shopping experience with £100 in vouchers to spend in the new departments, a professional make-up artist, brunch in the café and a limo taxi to and from the store. Nominations open on Monday 13th March. Visit the customer service desk for more information.
