Aycliffe boy, Jack Howarth, has been selected to represent Team England at the Commonwealth Taekwondo Championships.
Jack, who is part of Chi Taekwondo, was selected over hundreds of applicants to be part of the Team England Squad of 175 players. It was a very proud moment for Jack and 10 of his team members from Chi Taekwondo, who were also successful.
After Jack became a black belt at the Woodham Club he started competitive fighting and trains six times a week, three of these sessions at Spennymoor. His hard work and dedication to the sport has paid off.
The Taekwondo Common-wealth Games will be held in Edinburgh on 15th and 16th November 2014.
It is a world ranking competition, with players coming from 53 commonwealth countries. This will be a great experience for the 15 year old and hopefully the start of bigger things.
